20 years of Mesnerhaus

In 2007, a new chapter began for Maria and Josef Steffner at the Mesnerhaus. A shared idea became a restaurant with a signature of its own. A historic house became their home as hosts. And many individual evenings became twenty years filled with encounters, enjoyment, and memories.

In 2027, therefore, we do not wish merely to look back. We wish to celebrate.

What began twenty years ago.

Maria in the restaurant and with the wine. Josef in the kitchen. Between them, a house from 1420, a shared understanding of hospitality, and quite a lot of work.

Twenty years later, much has grown: the restaurant, the kitchen, the wine cellar, and the Boutique hotel. Above all, however, the number of people who return to Mauterndorf time and again.

The Mesnerhaus works not in spite of these different roles, but precisely because of them.

That is why 2027 will be celebrated for an entire year—with friends, companions along the way, chefs, winemakers, artists, and people who enrich the Mesnerhaus in their very own way.

Sometimes there will be cooking. Sometimes performances. Sometimes looking back. And sometimes everything happens at once.
